Reflection Prt.2

My final product includes mostly pictures, which I had originally not planned to do. The final product included two quotes, one was lyrics from one of my favourite songs "Drops of Jupiter"- Train. I picked the lyrics I liked the most out of the song. I also had another quote which is my favourite it is from the book "We Bought a Zoo", I painted them both with water colour however, used different colour scales. In one I did orange, red, and yellow and in the other I used purple, green, and blue. I had sheet music from one of my favourite artists Justin Bieber. The sheet music also represented my love to play the piano. Other mementos I included was a One Tree Hill poster (my favourite show), Taylor Swift CD cover (favourite artist), a Justin Bieber concert ticket (one of my favourite memories), a newspaper clipping from when I cut my hair for cancer (one of my favourite memories), and a pamphlet from a speech competition that I won (an achievement/hobbie). I had to pictures from the past from which I hung a photo from the present to prove these people have supported me the longest. My pictures included me, my siblings, best friends, aunt, father, and boyfriend. I did not get a chance to include some people, but overall I am satisfied.

Reflection

I enjoyed doing this project very much. When trying to narrow down what to include I decided to more focus on pictures of me with the people who mean the most in my life. At first I planned to focus on name brands that I enjoyed, and cutting the bags into shapes of clothing. This project helped me realize that the material things in life are not what matters, but the people in it. Family and friends mean more to me then my favourite clothing store which is why they are the main focus of my project. When choosing the most significant and prominent things I could not live without I realized the clothing line (my project) was a direct representation of my life, and my clothing line did not look complete with out the photos of the people that mean the most to me. This project helped my appreciate good memories and people that have been in my life since my childhood. The comparing of the photos since the time I was young until the present shows who really is there for me in my life, and who my true friends are. I enjoyed doing projects about me because it helped me come to realize what the important things in my life are; the people.

Final Post Grade 10

I enjoyed certain aspects of this course such as drawing, painting, and the mosaics. These projects i really tried and took my time. I enjoyed working with these materials the most. However, I liked grade nine art much better because I did not have to blog or explain my thinking process or document my work. I also wish we learned more about technique. I did work with many new materials this years that were very beneficial to me.

I am very happy with my final project. It includes all aspects of my life: music, family, friends, quotes, and mementos. I had my favourite quotes, lyrics, memories, and people included. I liked presenting it in the vine format because it is unique from ordinary pictures. I decided mot to paint the clothes pins or include the bag idea. I did not have enough room for the bags or enough time to paint the clothes pins. However, I am very satisfied with my final project and I think it completely describes me.

In my preliminary process I painted two quotes and sheet music using water colour. I also decided on pictures and hung the string. I decided on changing my idea completely and did all pictures and mementos. At first I was going to do a time line but then I went with comparing photos of me with people who are important to me to where they are now in my present life

I decided on one of my elephant designs. I drew the design out free hand then used tracing paper to transfer it on to the material. The cutting process was alright for me, much easier then some other students as mine was smaller also a simpler design. I wanted to use bright colours when printing to make it look tribal and eye-catching. However, I found I put too much paint on to the print did not have clean lines. When I tried with the black paint I liked my print much more.
