What are mosaics?

Mosaics is a picture or pattern produced by arranging together small coloured pieces of hard material, such as stone, tile, or glass.

When were mosaics used?

Mosaics were created in Greece in the 8th century BC using pebbles.

How were mosaics used?

Mosaics were often used as flooring, at first using standard designs and then evolved to telling a story. 

What arts were created from mosaics?

Mosaics provided a picture that could not fade however needed repairs every few years.
